We are being linked in the Sunday press with Colchester goalkeeper Dean Gerken. He made his way up through the youth ranks and has a reputation as something of a hothead.
Should Weaver's knee twinge yesterday prove to be anything serious, some of the Addickted are calling for the recall of Randolph from Hereford. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that. You can't send someone out on a year long loan and then call them back.
In any case, whether Randolph is good enough to be a long-term custodian remains an open question. In practice it is possible to pick up decent keepers on loan as those in a No.2 slot crave some action.

Charlton could find themselves in a real pickle if they sign Gerken.
