Addicks linked with Brazilian

Charlton have been linked with Brazilian midfielder Douglas Rinaldi who is available on a free transfer. The 24-year old did not make a single appearance with Watford last season and has been let go by the Hornets.

Elsewhere, Ipswich Town have clinched a £600,000 deal for former Charlton striker Kevin Lisbie.

Didn't Lisbie go on a free from us?

If so, thats good business by Colchester.

Any one know what Rinaldi is like?

Is it just me or should we not be having a close look at Ben Watson. I know £1.75m (fee agreed with QPR according to the mirror) may be most of the available transfer funds but isn't he the sort of dynamic box to box midfielder we so desperately need?

I saw a very dynamic kid playing with his mates up the park yesterday. He has a good engine on him between the boxes, gets stuck in and from what I could see he brinks his own drink to the match. Anyone got a contact number for the clubs extensive network of scouting talent currently looking at every non-league player in the country whilst all our opponents actually get on and recruit proven players likely to have an impact on the coming season?

As far as I know, Rinaldi is actually 28. Some websites have him as 24, others as 28. At that age if he's not adapted to English football, he probably never will.

Anyway a player that didn't make a single league appearance for Watford last season surely isn't good enough for us?

He sounds just like the player for us. He will get injured in training, be on the payrollfor 12 to 18 months and disappear without having troubled the stadium announcer.
