Weaver injured at Brighton

Charlton keeper Nicky Weaver was injured in the warm up at today's friendly at Brighton and his place in goal was taken by youngster Callum Christie. It may be that his withdrawal was simply a precautionary measure and that the injury was not serious.

It does emphasise how short we are of goalkeeping cover with Randolph on a season's loan at Hereford. We cannot really afford a third goalkeeper, but no one doubt someone would be brought in on loan on a real crisis. The club has been probably keeping an eye on some promising non-league keepers.

Charlton continued its pre-season winning streak, victory being secured with a second half goal from Chris Dickson.

Hudson looks like a sound buy, a real leader at the back.

301 people watched grays v charltons 2nd eleven. the young team was totally outplayed and whereas grays looked like a team ours looked liked they had not played together before. Faye played in front of the back four and looked distinctively uninterested
